<p><b>MONTGOMERY, Ala. | </b>Alabama State University softball used a three-run seventh to force extra inings in a 6-4 loss in eight innings to the University of North Alabama on Saturday at the Barbara Williams Softblal Complex.</p>
<p>Sophomore Kohana Pouson (0-2) started and took the loss in the circle for Alabama State (0-4).</p>
<p>Offensively, the Hornets were paced by junior
Kelsey Long, who went 1-for-1 on the day with a double and an RBI. Freshman
Talee Sims compiled a standout day at the plate as well, going 1-for-4 with two RBI. Freshman
Jaibriel Terrell also helped out for Alabama State, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate.</p>
<p><strong>HOW IT HAPPENED</strong></p>
<p>Trailing 3-0, the Hornets first put runs on the board in the fourth inning. Alabama State got on the board thanks to Long's RBI double with two outs.</p>
<p>The Lions expanded their lead to 4-1 before the Hornets offense got back to work, tying it up in the seventh. Alabama State scored three runs in the frame, buoyed by a two-run single off the bat of Sims, which evened the score at 4-4. North Alabama then scored two times over the remaining one inning to break the tie and grab the 6-4 win.</p>
