MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Katie Simon tossed a one-hit shutout as the University of North Alabama captured a 12-0 win over homestanidng Alabama State University softball on Saturday.
Freshman Kaitlyn Hill (0-2) got the ball to start for Alabama State (0-5) and took the loss.
Offensively, the Hornets were led by freshman Talee Sims, who went 1-for-2 on the day.

Alabama State didn't managed to advance a runner past first base in the ballgame.
GAME NOTES
» Alabama State pitchers faced 33 North Alabama hitters in the game, allowing seven ground balls and six fly balls while striking out two.
» Sims led the Hornets at the plate, going 1-for-2.
» North Alabama was led offensively by sophomore Briley Dover, who went 3-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI.
