MONTGOMERY, Ala. |  Carmelle Vial won in straight sets to clinch a 4-0 win for Alabama State Universty women's tennis over rival Florida A&M University on Saturday at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center

The Hornets grabbed the early advantage winning 2-of-3 doubles matches to capture 1-0 lead heading into singles. Melisa Mekic and Diana Craciun won on court two and  Carmelle Vial and Kesmat El Tawil capped off the doubles with a win on court three.

Mekic and Cleanne Pickel gave ASU a 3-0 lead with wins at No. 2 and No. 4 singles before Vial sealed the win on court three.

Alabama State closes the weekend against in state rival Alabama A&M on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.
