Alabama State leaves 10 on base in loss to Georgia State

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Though they had plenty of opportunities, Alabama State had a hard time cashing them in, leaving 10 Hornets on base in an 8-1 setback at the hands of the Georgia State Panthers on Tuesday.

Junior Caleb Sanders (0-3) started and took the loss on the mound for Alabama State (5-8). Junior Shadai Colon was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going one shutout inning without allowing a hit, walking one and striking out one.

At the plate, the Hornets were paced by junior Devin Chandler, who went 2-for-4 on the day with a double. Freshman Fabian Santana furnished a standout effort as well, going 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI. Junior Kameron Douglas also contributed for Alabama State, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate.
