Alabama State Softball Falls to Jacksonville State

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State University softball fell to Jacksonville State University 18-5 on Tuesday at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex. 

Freshman Mason Quinnie (4-7) started and took the loss in the circle for Alabama State (12-30).

Offensively, the Hornets were led by senior Alexia Denby, who went 1-for-1 on the day with a double and three RBI. Junior Alana Scott furnished a noteworthy day at the plate as well, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trailing 18-0, the Hornets first put runs on the board in the fifth inning. Alabama State's offense started clicking and put up five runs, including a three-run double off the bat of Denby. The Hornets were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
