BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State University's Luke Parmentier was named the SWAC Baseball Newcomer of the Week announced the conference office on Wednesday.
 
Parmentier hit .714, slugged, 1.286 and had a .765 on base percentage over a four-game stretch last week. The Bethalto, Ill., native smacked two doubles, and two home runs while driving in six runs and scoring six runs.
 
Alabama State posted a 3-1 week, including a SWAC road series sweep of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Hornet hit .383 as team and outscored its opponents 44-25.
