BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State University's Kelvin Agosto was selected as the SWAC Baseball Hitter and Newcomer of the Week released by the league office on Wednesday.
 
Agosto hit .500, going 8-for-16 at the plate with a double, four home runs and 18 RBI over four games last week. The Vega Baja, P.R., native slugged 1.313 slugging percentage and had a .556 on base percentage.
