DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. | The Alabama State baseball took a 6-4 lead into the seventh inning, but could not hang on as Bethune-Cookman score in the bottom of th eninth for a 10-9 win on Friday.
Junior Will Bartkoski (0-2) took the loss on the mound for Alabama State (23-23, 15-7). Junior Jorhan Laboy started the ballgame and went six innings, surrendering four runs, two earned, on six hits, walking one and striking out six.
Offensively, the Hornets were paced by junior Kameron Douglas, who went 3-for-5 on the day with two home runs and five RBI. Junior Kelvin Agosto put together a standout day at the dish as well, going 4-for-5 with a double, a triple and two RBI. Sophomore Juan Cruz also helped out for Alabama State, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate while adding two doubles and two walks.

The Hornets lost despite scoring in seven different innings in the ballgame, last holding the lead in the seventh inning at 7-6. Alabama State's biggest output came in its two-run fourth inning. The Hornets notched their two runs when a single from Douglas brought home senior DeMarckus Smiley and Agosto.
