Alabama State Softball Walks Off Lindenwood

MONTGOMERY, AL --The Alabama State Hornets rallied to score two in the seventh inning and walked it off on a single off the bat of Ayana Frank to pick up the 6-5 victory over the Lindenwood (MO) Lions Friday.

Kohanna Pousson (1-0) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Alabama State (1-1). The right-hander went four innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on three hits.

Offensively, the Hornets were paced by Tallee Sims, who went 3-for-4 on the day with a home run and two RBI  Braylin Cook put together a standout day at the plate as well, going 1-for-2 with a home run, two walks and two RBI, Arianna Cox-Cole also helped out for Alabama State, putting together one hit in two trips to the plate while adding a double and a walk.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Hornets put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the second inning. Alabama State plated two runs when Cook left the yard with Cox-Cole aboard.

The Lions then rallied to score five runs and take a 5-2 lead before the Hornets got back on the board in the fifth. Alabama State scored twice on Sims' two-run homer, which brought the score to 5-4 in favor of the Lions.

Alabama State kept its deficit in check, holding Lindenwood (MO) scoreless before scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh to claim victory, walking it off on an RBI single off the bat of Frank.
