Four Alabama State players notch multiple hits in loss to Nicholls

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State University had four players notch multiple hits, but the Hornets fell to the Nicholls Colonels 14-6 at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Hornets were trailing 11-0 in the third inning when they first put runs on the board. Alabama State plated two runs off of Nicholls pitching, one of which was driven in on a run-scoring double off the bat of A. Scott.

The Hornets kept the deficit at 11-2 before closing the gap further in the fifth. The Alabama State offense exploded for four runs, highlighted by a two-run single off the bat of A. Cox-Cole and a two-run single from B. Williams, which brought the score to 11-6 in favor of the Colonels. The Hornets were unable to get any closer, as Nicholls added three runs to their tally on the way to a 14-6 final.
