ARLINGTON, Texas | Alabama State's Jenna Knight delivered a standout performance to earn All-Tournament honors as the top individual bowler at the 2026 SWAC Women's Bowling Championships, but the Hornets came up just short in their bid for a fourth conference title, falling to rival Alabama A&M in the championship match Sunday on SWAC TV.

Knight paced the entire field with a tournament-best 228.00 average, rolling games of 224 and 232 for a 456 total pinfall across two games to claim the top individual spot. Her dominant showing highlighted a strong overall performance by Alabama State, which placed all five competitors inside the top 15 of the final individual standings.

The Hornets' depth was evident throughout the tournament, led by Olivia Miller, who finished sixth overall with a 191.00 average (382 total pins). Nevaeh Williams secured a 10th-place finish with a 179.00 average (358 pins), while Taylor Lee placed 13th with a 174.00 average (348 pins). Nikia Thomas rounded out the Alabama State contingent in 14th place, averaging 173.00 (346 pins).

Alabama State's consistent presence near the top of the leaderboard helped propel the program through the bracket and into the televised championship match. Despite the strong individual efforts, the Hornets were unable to overcome Alabama A&M in the final, settling for a runner-up finish.

The championship appearance marks another strong showing for Alabama State under head coach Andrew Chatmon, as the Hornets continue to establish themselves as one of the premier programs in the Southwestern Athletic Conference
