Alabama State Men's Tennis Advances to SWAC Championship with Semifinal Win Over Jackson State

NEW ORLEANS, La. | The No. 2 seed Alabama State University men's tennis team earned a dominant 4-0 victory over No. 3 seed Jackson State University on Saturday in the semifinals of the 2026 SWAC Men's Tennis Tournament at the Pepsi City Park Tennis Center.

With the win, the Hornets advance to the SWAC Championship match on Sunday at 2 p.m., where they will face No. 1 seed Alabama A&M. Alabama State will be seeking its fifth consecutive SWAC Tournament championship.

Doubles Play

Alabama State took early control of the match by securing the doubles point, winning two of three courts:

  • No. 1 Doubles: Gord Fran Mileusnic / Vid Maric (ASU) def. Hung‑Yu Chen / Ching Chang Chiu (JSU), 6–3
  • No. 2 Doubles: Martin Catrice / Matteo Lataste (ASU) def. Gokalp Ayar / Fabrizio Fallas (JSU), 6–3
