MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Alabama State University fifth-year head football coach Eddie Robinson Jr. announced the Hornets' 2026 fall camp schedule Wednesday as the program begins preparations for the upcoming season.

The Hornets will open preseason camp on Thursday, July 30, with the first of four consecutive practices at the Alabama State's Houston Markham Football Complex. Preseason camp features 20 practice sessions, three scheduled off days, and two scrimmages inside ASU Stadium before the team shifts its focus to the regular season.

Alabama State enters the 2026 campaign after being selected to finish first in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Eastern Division in the league's preseason poll. The Hornets will open the season against Southern University in the Birmingham Football Classic on Saturday, Aug. 29. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala.

The Hornets will hold the majority of preseason practices at the football complex before moving into ASU Stadium for scrimmages on Aug. 8 and Aug. 15. Media Day is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 22, at the stadium.
