Gary Howard begins his fourth year as a quality control coach at Alabama State University, working with the defense,
 
Howard lettered in football at Alabama State after transferring to Montgomery from Phoenix Junior College. Howard played in nine games on the defensive line in 2016.
 
A native of Houston (Texas), Howard graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications (public relations) from Alabama State, and has an associate’s degree in general studies.
