Jon Harrelson comes to Alabama State from Huntingdon College where he served on the football staff. While at Huntingdon, Harrelson was an offensive intern where helped coach running backs and H-backs.

He was also responsible for running position meetings, breaking down film and recruiting in the southeast portion of the country (Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi and Texas).

During his time at Huntingdon, he helped produce a pair of first team all-conference players in 2017 – including an H-back who had no previous playing experience in college and a senior running back who finished with 997 rushing yards. He helped Huntingdon capture their third consecutive USA South Conference championship.

A two-time All-Academic selection while Huntingdon College in football, Harrelson received his Bachelor of Arts degree in May 2017 in Political Science from the school.
