Courtney Perkins

Courtney Perkins begins her first year at Alabama State as the Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine after serving a stint at South Carolina State.

As an undergraduate, she worked with the Tar Heel football, softball, tennis, volleyball, and track and field teams. Perkins continued to advance her skills as a graduate assistant at the University of South Carolina, working with the Gamecock track and field teams in her first year before moving to Claflin University, a small DII school in Orangeburg, SC for her second year.

Upon graduating, Courtney was hired on as the Head Athletic Trainer at Claflin University. She later transitioned to South Carolina State University to serve as the Head Football Athletic trainer during their 2021-2022 season as HBCU National Champions

Perkins is a proud member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and Alabama Athletic Training Association. She is also a certified American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED instructor 

She is a native of Marion, SC. She earned her master's degree in Advanced Athletic Training from the University of South Carolina in May of 2020. Perkins earned her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, with a concentration in athletic training, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2018.
