Marie Ipock

Marie Ipock begins her second season, and first as an assistant coach, at Alabama State after spending the previous two years at Johnson & Wales University in Denver (Colo.).

She was named to 2020-21 United Soccer Coaches class of the 30 Under 30 program during the fall of 2020.

Prior to Alabama State, Ipock took part in practice plans, film sessions, recruiting, travel organization and day-to-day operations at Johnson & Wales. In 2017, the team went 8-6-2 and recorded the best record in school history. The Wildcats were 14-14-3 with Ipock on staff and had the highest-grade point average in the athletic department twice, including a 3.72 GPA in 2018.

Ipock joined the Lady Hornets program in 2019 as a graduate assistant, working with the goalkeepers and defenders.

She also worked for Colorado United in Littleton (Colo.) from 2016 through 2019, coaching for the Colorado Olympic Development Program (2018-19) and for the Bladium International Soccer Academy (2016-19) which is connected with Global Imaging Sports which works to send players to have trials with European Clubs.

She has played for and coached numerous club and scholastic teams, including playing for the Colorado Rapids Women’s U-23 team that won its national championship. She currently coaches for the Capital City Streaks in Montgomery (Ala.) and the Alabama State Olympic Development Program.

Ipock holds the USSF D License.

A graduate of Metropolitan State University in Denver, she was an all-conference midfielder and helped Metro State to four NCAA Division II tournament appearances. She was instrumental in helping the team reach the Sweet 16 two times, playing in 51 of 61 games and helping the team to a 51-19-12 record during her career.

Ipock, a native of Los Lunas (N.M.), earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Performance and Sport from Metropolitan State. Her family, parents Randy and Frances Ipock, as well as her brother’s family live in her hometown.
