Shelbi Vienna-Hallam

Shelbi Vienna-Hallam enters her third year as assistant coach at Alabama State after spending the 2016 season as a student assistant.

Vienna-Hallam was among the staff that helped the Lady Hornets win the 2016 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Tournament title after a 2-1 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

The decorated player spent two seasons with Alabama State (2014-2015) where she finished ranked fourth all-time in school history for career goals (12), tied for third in career assists (13) and fourth in career points (37).
 
Also among her accomplishments at Alabama State, Vienna-Hallam shares the career books for most assists in a season (11) and was a 2015 All-SWAC Preseason First Team selection as a midfielder. She played club soccer in 2015 with the Seacoast Mariners Maine Football Club in the Women’s Premier Soccer League. Academically, Vienna-Hallam earned 2015 spring semester Honor Roll and Dean’s List recognition.
 
In 2014, Vienna-Hallam was the Top Drawer Soccer SWAC Postseason Top 20 player and was mentioned as a Top Drawer Soccer SWAC Midseason Top 20 player. She received All-SWAC Second Team honors as a midfielder.
 
During her senior season at Alabama State, she started all 21 matches and played the second most minutes on the team with 1,821. She played a vital role in helping a defense that tied the SWAC for most shutouts with six in conference play and held a 1.54 goals-against average.
 
Prior to coming to Alabama State, Vienna-Hallam spent two years at Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Wash. She was named an All-Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) in both seasons, while helping lead Peninsula to a 43-3-1 two-year record – the best two seasons in program history. During that span she helped guide PJC to back-to-back NWAACC Championships. Her 13 career goals ranks third all-time for the two-year junior college.
