Sierra Joseph will enter her third season on the sidelines as an assistant to coach at Alabama State.
During the 2016 season, Joseph helped guide the Lady Hornets to an 11-10-1 overall record and a 7-2-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) record. The year was highlighted by Alabama State capturing the school's first-ever SWAC Tournament title and a trip to the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament.
In 2015, Joseph helped lead ASU to a 7-3 conference record and an appearance in the SWAC Championship match. Â
With the Lady Hornets, Joseph will serve as the recruiting coordinator as well as working with the position players, with her main focus directed toward working with the defenders.
Prior to Alabama State, Joseph served as the defender's coach at Ohio State University from 2013-2014. While at Ohio State, She also did video analysis as well as administrative work, along with the day-to-day training. Also as an assistant coach at Ohio State, Joseph oversaw and coached camps and clinics. She currently holds a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Diploma.Â
Joseph coached club soccer for two season at Ohio Premier before joining the Ohio State coaching staff.
A native of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Joseph graduated from Arizona State with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and Wellness.Â
A four-year letter winner, Joseph was also a three-time All-Pac 12 performer as well as being an All-Pac 12 All-Academic selection with the Sun Devils.

During her career, she helped lead Arizona State to three NCAA Tournament appearances.
As a player, Joseph played club soccer at Real Colorado, winning five state cups...drew into the national pool for the Olympic Development Program...represented Costa Rica to play for the national team.
At Arizona State, was a captain from her sophomore season until her senior season
