If it is beginning to look as though former Alabama State University football players and the National Football League's Super Bowl go hand-in-hand, you could be right.
Â
Former Hornets have been involved in the past four Super Bowls beginning with Michael Coe as a member of the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI in 2012. Nigel Carr was a member of the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII in 2013 and last year former quarterback Tarvaris Jackson was a member of the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII.
Â
The similarity of all the players in the Super Bowl over the past four years, including this year's championship, is the fact all of the teams the Hornets have been members of have won Super Bowl Championship rings.
Â
Super Bowl XLIX is set for Sunday, Feb. 1 at 5:30 p.m. at Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. New England will be making their eight appearance in the game and has amassed a 3-4 Super Bowl record. Seattle is making its third appearance and has a 1-1 record.
