Alabama State University's men's basketball team host Mississippi Valley State Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the ASU Acadome.
The contest between the Southwestern Athletic Conference's top-ranked Hornets (8-1 in SWAC play), and eighth-ranked Mississippi Valley State (3-6 conference record) will be covered nationally by the ESPNU2 cable network.
ASU will be led by Andrew Hayles, a 6-5 guard from Mobile who is ranked eighth in the conference in scoring averaging with just over 12 points a game. Hayles also leads the SWAC in 3-point shooting.
Teammate Brandon Brooks, a 6-2 guard from Dallas, leads the SWAC in assists.
Chief Kickingstallionsims, the Hornets' 7-0 center from Boynton Beach, Fla., leads both ASU and SWAC in blocked shots with 51 so far this season.
