The Alabama State University Mighty Marching Hornets will perform this Saturday at the 2012 Senior Bowl at Mobile's Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
The ASU Band, along with the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders, will provide pregame and halftime entertainment at the 63rd Senior Bowl, college football's premier senior showcase event, annually featuring the nation's best senior collegiate football stars and top NFL draft prospects on teams coached by NFL coaching staffs. The game will kickoff at 3 p.m. and will be televised live on NFL Network.
“Our fans have a high level of expectation when it comes to our pre-game and halftime entertainment, and we believe that the 'Mighty Marching Hornets' and Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders will not only meet those expectations, but exceed them,” Senior Bowl President and CEO Steve Hale said.
Under the direction of James B. Oliver, the “Mighty Marching Hornets” are one of the premier HBCU bands in the country. The 275-member unit will be making their Senior Bowl debut next month at Ladd- Peebles Stadium but are no stranger to performing in front of large crowds. In addition to several NFL games, the “Marching Hornets” have also performed in numerous Battle of the Bands, classic games and even on the nationally televised Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“It is definitely an honor for us to be a part of the Senior Bowl,” Oliver said. “It's going to be a very high-energy halftime show. We're really going to please and entertain the audience.”
