Box Score The Alabama State University soccer team fell 3-1 to Jackson State at the Jackson State Soccer Complex Friday evening.
“Disappointing,” head coach
Jodie Smith said. “We played poor all the way around. We didn't show up to play today. Our defensive back showed poor efforts today, and if we can't defend better than what we did today, then we are going to have problems the rest of the season. We just were not good in any facet of the game.”
The Lady Tigers (5-7-1 overall/ 2-0 SWAC) scored in the 12
th and 16
th minutes to open the first half of the contest.

Jackson State opened the second half scoring its third and final goal of the contest in the 50
th minute, to cap the score at 3-1.

Kylee Hathaway had seven saves on the day. JSU outshot ASU 14-4 in the contest.
Alabama State will be in action against the Southern Jaguars Sunday, October 21 at 2 p.m. in Baton Rouge.
“If we don't answer the bell and regroup, then we'll have the same results on Sunday against Southern,” said Smith.
