Box Score The Alabama State soccer team fell 3-0 to Francis Marion on Friday evening at the Bulldog/Sleep Inn Classic in Orangeburg, S.C.
 
“We struggled defensively in the midfield during transitions,” Head Coach Jodie Smith said. “I'm happy with the effort level we played with over the course of match, but we have to overcome these mistakes we're making on the backend.”
 
The Patriots (2-1-1) scored in the eighth, thirty-first, and sixty-first minutes of the contest to take the 3-0 shutout.
 
Sophomore Kylee Hathaway had eight saves on the day for ASU.
 
Alabama State (1-2) will return to action for day two of the Bulldog/Sleep Inn Classic Sunday, September 2 at noon to face South Carolina State.
