“We really tried to play inside out and when we would run the play the way we called it we wound up taking a tougher shot than we had too or we would turn the ball over.”

AAMU shot 46 percent from the field and hit four of their 10 three point shots.  The difference was at the free throw line where AAMU hit 20 of their 29 attempts, while the Hornets only attempted 11, hitting nine.

“You have to give A&M credit they came out and wanted it more than we did,” Jackson said.  “They were a lot more focused than we were down the stretch.”

ASU falls to 5-13 overall and 3-2 in the conference while AAMU moves to 7-9 overall and also stands at 3-2 in the SWAC.

ASU gets a much needed break after playing six games in 15 days.  Their next game will be on Saturday, Jan. 19 when they host Southern University at 5 p.m.
