Box Score The Alabama State University soccer team defeated in-state rival Alabama A&M Friday at Bulldog Field. With the win, ASU has now gone nine games without taking a loss for the first time in the history of the program.

The Lady Hornets (11-6-1) scored the first goal off an assist from
Anastasia McCleary to
Ariela Lewis. The Lady Bulldogs responded in the 16
th minute when Ana Huertas scored an unassisted goal. The Lady Hornets scored in the 35
th minute when
Ally Murphy scored with a deflection off a defender. Estelle Esperance scored in the 41
st minute off an assist from Ana Huertas. The score was tied 2-2 going into the half.
In the second half the Lady Bulldogs came out on the attack with a goal from Ana Huertas in the 51
st minute giving them a 3-2 lead over the Lady Hornets. But in the 60
th minute
Ariela Lewis scored to retie the game.
In overtime Alabama State controlled the ball, till the 96
th minute when
Aaliyah Lewis scored to win the game for the Lady Hornets.
Alabama State outshot Alabama A&M 19-7 in the contest. Junior goalkeeper
Kylee Hathaway had four key saves.
The Lady Hornets will return to action Thursday, November 7 when they travel to Houston for the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament at the Houston Amateur Sports Park.
