Box Score Nashville, Tenn. –The Lady Hornets soccer team took on the Belmont Bruins Sunday afternoon in Nashville, Tenn. at the E.S. Rose Park losing 3-0.
"We failed to control the midfield and they were able to run at us." Head Coach
Jodie Smith said. "We definitely faced some adversity this weekend."
The Lady Hornets (3-3) struggled to maintain possession of the ball in the first half getting out shot by the Lady Bruins 15-2. Belmont struck first with a goal by Sydney Omweg off an assist from Elise Detrude in the 30th minute.
In the second half, Belmont came out on the attack out shooting ASU 20-1. Emily Epley scored her first goal of the season in the 53rd minute with an assist from Kim Elmore. Emily Jones also scored her first goal of the season in the 68th minute.

Kylee Hathaway had seven saves in 45 minutes of play. Freshmen goalkeeper
Courtney LeDonne played in her first game seeing full action in the second period with three saves.
"I am very pleased with LeDonne's play today it's very difficult to come in and perform as well as she did." Said Coach Smith "We need to regroup for Friday and get back to doing the things that led us to success in our earlier games."
Alabama State will return to action Friday, September 13 at 4 p.m. as they come home to face UNC-Asheville at the ASU Soccer Complex.
