Make that three straight conference wins to open the 2014 SWAC schedule for the Alabama State women's volleyball team.

Four players had at least seven kills, the team collectively racked up a .308 hitting percentage with nine aces as the Lady Hornets made short work of host Alcorn State 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-11) in just under an hour. 

Junior Myla Marshall had 11 kills on an eye-popping .529 hitting percentage, a career-high seven digs and three blocks to lead ASU (7-15 overall, 3-0 SWAC).

Fellow junior Rachel Smith had eight digs, seven kills, and tied a season-high with four service aces.  Senior Ellyn Jones was making noise behind the service line as well as she picked up a season-high four aces to go along with a team-best 19 assists and four digs. 

Juniors Tiara Kelley and Amber Bennett were on point as well, swinging for quality efficiency, aiding ASU in an impressive third set that strung together 19 kills against just three attack errors for a team .500 hitting percentage. 

Kelley had eight kills (.386 hitting percentage) and four digs while Bennett accounted for seven kills (.357 hitting percentage). 

The Braves (4-11, 0-3 SWAC) were led by Brittney Dumas, who had seven kills and four digs. 

Alabama State will finish out the Mississippi road swing with a visit to Mississippi Valley State for a SWAC contest on Saturday at 1 p.m.
