The Alabama State women's basketball team has traveled down south in order to face their first road trip opponent the Florida A&M Rattlers. The Lady Hornets and FAMU are set to tip at 6 p.m. eastern time at the AL Lawson Center.
Â
Playing on the road is always tough, but Coach
Freda Freeman-Jackson looks forward to the competition outside of conference play.
Â
"Any time that you come on the road you always know it's going to be tough," Freeman-Jackson said. "I feel that if we do the things that we need to do that we have an opportunity to win the ball game. The key to winning will be to play solid defense and that's one of the hardest things to do when you have a young team."
Â
Last season at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome ASU was able to slide by the Rattlers with a score of 64-63. Florida A&M (0-1) played last Friday night in Tuscaloosa, Ala. against the University of Alabama. The Rattlers fell to the Tide 60-44. Alabama State (1-0) also played their last contest Friday, against Stillman in a home opener at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome. The Lady Hornets downed the Tigers by the score of 75-66.
