In men's action the Trojans won the doubles points to go into singles play with a 1-0 lead and finished off the match winning five of the six singles matches.  ASU's win came at six singles where Digvijay Naruka defeated Tommy Cundy 7-5, 6-4.
 
ASU (4-8) had some chances in the match especially at two singles where Takura Mlambo lost 6-1, 7-6 (8-6).
 
The Lady Hornets (6-10) fell to a strong Trojan team that had won six of its past eight matches heading into today.  ASU's Irina Cvijovic fell in three sets at five singles falling 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (10-3).
 
"I know we were facing good teams at Troy today and they were even better than I thought," Head Coach Anuk Christiansz said.  "Not getting in as much practice as we needed to due to the weather really hurt us in the matches.  I thought we competed hard and played with a lot of intensity, but we just could not put together a run of points.  It was good competition for us and I was glad we were able to get on the courts and face quality teams."
 
The men will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, March 22 when they face Columbus State at noon.  Both teams will host North Alabama March 26 at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Complex with those matches slated to begin at noon.
