MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State University's men's and women's tennis programs once again demonstrated excellence in the classroom as 14 Hornets were recognized as 2026 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athletes.
The ITA announced its annual Division I Scholar-Athlete recipients, honoring student-athletes who have excelled academically while competing at the highest level of collegiate tennis. The organization recognized 1,008 Division I men's student-athletes and 162 men's programs with ITA All-Academic Team honors for the 2025-26 academic year.
The ITA Scholar-Athlete award recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a grade-point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year while meeting additional eligibility requirements established by the association.
Alabama State placed seven men's tennis student-athletes and seven women's tennis student-athletes on the prestigious academic list.
