The Alabama State University tennis teams hosted Tuskegee University today at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Complex and both teams were able to keep their momentum gained last week at the SWAC Round Up.
Â
The men's team defeated Tuskegee 7-0 running their record to 4-6 and winning their third consecutive match. The women are now 5-8 on the season and have won three of their last four matches after defeating Tuskegee by the same 7-0 score.
Â
"It's always good to get back out on the court and get in a match," Head Coach
Anuk Christiansz said. "Both teams kept up their intensity which they have been good about and stayed focused. Due to the weather we were not able to get in a lot of practice time this week, so I was impressed with the way they came out and played."
Â
"I know I keep saying this, but I do believe we are getting a little bit better. Both teams will be stepping up in their next matches so they will need to continue their improvement."
Â
The men will be back in action Sunday, March 9 when they travel to Chattanooga, Tenn., to face the Mocs in a 2 p.m. match. The women are back home Monday, March 10 to host Delaware State at 4 p.m.
