Charleston, S.C.- The Alabama State Soccer team dropped its season opener to the College of Charleston 4-0 at Blackbaud Stadium.
 
"It was a tough day for us and we really had a tough time in the midfield maintaining possession. Thus we were not able to generate any quality scoring opportunities." Stated Head Coach Jodie Smith
 
The Cougars outshot the Hornets 30-2.  Senior goalkeeper Kylee Hathaway recorded eleven saves with eighteen players seeing action.
 
Alexandria Cannon and Aaliyah Lewis recorded the Hornets only shots.
 
The Lady Hornets next match will be Sunday at noon against South Carolina State. 
 
"We will get a good day of rest in and be ready for a great game on Sunday at South Carolina State." Coach Smith said in closing.
