Alabama State University's tennis teams will host North Alabama Friday, Feb. 13 at 3 p.m. on the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center courts.
Â
It will be the first home double-header of the season for ASU and will be the first of three consecutive home matches leading into the first of two SWAC Round Ups.
Â
Both North Alabama squads come into Montgomery with 1-1 records and both programs have a strong tradition on the hard courts and will be another strong test for the young ASU teams.
Â
"North Alabama will bring a lot of talent to the courts Friday afternoon," Head Coach Anuk Chrisiansz said. "They have always been a strong tennis program for as long as I can remember and we had two really good matches against them last year."
Â
"I am looking for both of our teams to show improvement every day and in every match and tomorrow will be no different. We are still working hard on closing out matches. The season is still very young, but we have had nine or 10 chances to close out some games and have been unable to do so. I know the players have the ability they just need to do it on the courts. Winning can be contagious and once they win one or two tough games they can gain some confidence and make a run."
Â
The ASU men enter the match looking for their first win after four matches, while the women have played three matches and will be looking for their first win.
Â
The matches are free and open to the public.
