ASU Tennis Host Jacksonville State

Alabama State University's tennis teams will be back in action Friday, Feb. 20 when they play host to Jacksonville State University at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.  The action is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.

JSU's men enter the match with a 3-4 record while ASU (0-6) continues to search for its first win of the season.

"We really need to have a solid outing against a very good JSU team," Head Coach Anuk Christiansz said.  "We have yet to put together good efforts in both doubles and singles and we need to find some consistency."

JSU's women (1-4) enter the match with the same record as the Lady Hornets (1-4).

"Our women have really been playing a lot better over the past couple of weeks," Christiansz said.  "I have said it before, but the women just grind out their matches.  They compete extremely hard for every point.  I am looking for that kind of match tomorrow from the women as they continue to improve."

ASU is only one week away from the first SWAC Round Up and are looking to use these last couple of matches to lead into conference play.

"We want to be playing the best we have played this season once we get to the round up," Christiansz said.  "This is one of those matches I am hoping will help us pick our game up and get better."

Christiansz also announced an addition to the schedule.  Tuskegee will come to Montgomery Saturday, Feb. 21 to face ASU in both men's and women's tennis.  The matches have been scheduled for 11 a.m.
