In their last game of the regular season, the Alabama State women's basketball team will look to pay back Jackson State in order to stay in the race for the third seed on
Saturday, March 7 for a
3:00 tip-off at the Lee E. Williams Assembly Center.

This will be the 69
th contest between these schools. Jackson State has the all-time series advantage of 35-33 since the 1981 season. As the head women's basketball coach,
Freda Freeman-Jackson holds a 21-12 advantage. Earlier in the season, the Lady Tigers defeated Alabama State 90-85 in Montgomery.
"Playing on the road is always tough especially at Jackson State,"
Freda Freeman-Jackson said. "When you come to Jackson, you have to play against the fans and the team. The sixth man is always a hard team to beat. Jackson has been playing well and they have a young lady Hardy-Fuller that has been leading the team. Jackson also has a mixture of players. Like I always say,we will have to defend the ball and play our game."
Jackson State is led in scoring (10.5) and rebounding (6.7) by Ayanna Hardy-Fuller, while Alabama State has the top rebounder in the conference with junior
Jasmine Peeples who averages 10 rebounds per contest.
Britney Wright is the second leading scorer of the conference rankings averaging 16.5 points per game. Peeples is averaging 10.1 points, which includes 10 double-doubles on the season.
