Williams ACC. Back on Jan 6, 2014, in the second SWAC game of the season at Jackson State, ASU fell to the Lady Tigers in overtime (71-64). This time, it's at the end of the regular season.

When ASU comes to Jackson, Miss., it always seems to be tough to get out with a win. Â

"Another missed opportunity and we just didn't close it out," said head coach
Freda Freeman-Jackson. "We knew it was going to be tough coming here and we allowed them to get another easy win. We have to be able to make plays and we didn't make it happen down the stretch."
With the game knotted at 57-57 going into overtime, Jackson State's Alisa Ross knocked down a jumper before being fouled and put in an and one to put the Lady Tigers on the board first. Another foul by ASU puts Kameron Jones on the line to shoot two. She made both to give JSU a 62-57 advantage.Â
Britney Wright put the Lady Hornets on the board as they trailed by three (62-59).Â
Ross scored the last four points to give the Lady Tigers the final lead.
ASU's Wright led all scorers with 26 points and
Jasmine Peeples amassed her 11
th double-double of the season with 15 points, while leading all players with 16 rebounds. Â
Tabitha Bradshaw added nine points and
Daniele Ewert had eight.
"Since regular season is over with, I think we got some really good play out of our bigs," saidcoach Freeman-Jackson of Wright and Peeples. "We just needed a little more play from our guards and everyone knows you can win or lose with your guards.
Jackson State had three players in double digits with Ross leading the way for the Lady Tigers with 22 points, while Hardy-Fuller scored 14 points and Krystal Nailer hoisted 11. Hardy-Fuller led JSU on the boards with 15.
The game saw Alabama State with 30 points in the paint; 14 points off of turnovers and 20 second chance points. The score was tied 10 times and the lead change on 11 ocassions.Â
The Lady Hornets will return to the court when they play in the SWAC Tournament scheduled forÂ
Thursday, March 12with a time and opponent to be announced.Â
