Â
"I stressed to both teams we wanted to come out focused and aggressive today and get out to a fast start and I thought they did that," Head Coach
Anuk Christiansz said. "Both teams played a lot of good tennis today and it really showed."
Â
Tomorrow the Lady Hornets will face the tourney's top seed Southern at 9 a.m. while the men will face second-seeded Prairie View at 1 p.m. The location is still scheduled for City Park, but with inclement weather moving into the area, the matches may be forced to a different indoor location.
Â
"We are going to get back to the hotel and get plenty of rest because tomorrow we will need to take our play up a level," Christiansz said. "Southern beat our girls 6-1 in a match that was closer than the final score and the men lost during the season 4-3 to Prairie View in a match that went down to the final singles match. We need to be ready to go tomorrow."
