SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The offense sputtered out on the West Coast as the Hornets had a tough time getting into a flow as the Alabama State men's basketball team lost at San Diego State 73-41 on Steve Fisher Court at Viejas Arena on Monday night.Â
Alabama State (1-8) shot a paltry 25 percent from the floor, were outshot 26-8 from the free throw line and trailed by 20 at halftime.Â

Torloft Thomas led the way for ASU as the guard scored a team-high 14 points, knocked down 3-of-7 from 3-point range and dished out three assists.Â
Tony Armstrong was an efficient 3-of-5 from the field and scored six points in 17 minutes of action.Â
But the Aztecs (5-4) led from wire-to-wire and it shot 55 percent from the floor and received 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting with seven rebounds from Malik Pope.Â
Next, the Hornets will get back on the plane and travel to Nashville to take on Tennessee State on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. from the Gentry Center.Â
