NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Hornets
men's basketball team heavy road schedule to begin the season continued with a stop in Nashville as Alabama State endured another cold shooting outing in a 68-46 loss to Tennessee State at the Gentry Center on Wednesday night.Â
Alabama State (1-9) has been zipping across the country, playing at San Diego State just two days prior, and was playing their ninth game on the road thus far for the 2016-17 campaign.
Tony Armstrong was a bright spot for ASU, shooting 4-of-8 from the field to score a team-high 13 points. Armstrong also pulled down seven rebounds and had two steals.Â
Amir Warnock had a season-high 10 rebounds,
Reginald Gee added eight points and Demetrius Houston made his Hornet debut and dished out a team-high four assists.Â
Alabama State shot only 25 percent from the floor and trailed 40-13 at the break.Â
The Tigers (8-2) were led by Jordan Reed, who scored 13 points. TSU had 10 different players score as the team shot 47 percent from the floor.Â
Next, the Hornets will get a rest of eight days before traveling to play at Ball State on Dec. 22 for a 7:30 p.m. tip.
