CLEMSON, S.C. – Nineteen men and 16 women finished top-10 during the Alabama State Track and Field 2017 Indoor Season debut at the Clemson Orange and Purple Indoor Classic on Jan. 7 in Clemson, South Carolina.
Headlining the finishers, four Bama State men finished in the top-5.
Josh Davis took a third place finish after completing the men's 60 meter dash in 6.76 seconds, Lezoghia Member-Menen used a 49.22 time to place fourth in the 400 meter dash, the 4x400 relay team of Member-Menen, Kevin Spaggins, Devin O'Neal and Carmin Lamb also finished fourth with a 3:19.97 time and Maurice Buchanan earned fifth place in the men's high jump with a 2.00m jump (6 feet, 6.75 inches).
On the women's side, Tiatiana Etienne brought home the highest finish of the day with a second place 500 meter dash time of 1:31.31. Nia Jack placed fourth in the 60 meter dash after a 7.60 second performance and distance medley team of Brandee Ebert, Latisha Locker, Arion Span and Hayley Spears finished third at 13:06.73.
The ASU track teams return to action on Friday, Jan. 14 as the Hornets travel to Birmingham, Alabama for the two-day 2017 UAB Blazer Invitational.
