EUGENE, Ore. -- The 2024 US Olympic Track and Field Trials have witnessed another remarkable performance, as Jamarion Stubbs has secured his spot in the finals of the 200-meter dash. The talented sprinter finished with 20.31 seconds in the semifinals, placing third in the second heat.
"This is a dream come true. I've worked so hard for this moment, and sharing it with my family, coaches, and teammates is truly special," added Stubbs. "I'm racing the best sprinters in the world on Saturday. I'm ready and eager for the challenge."
The semifinal round saw Stubbs line up against some of the toughest competition in the country, including top-seeded Kenny Bednarek and Courtney Lindsey.
How Stubbs advances to Paris: Must finish in the top three of the 200-meter dash. The race is at 9:40 p.m. central time on Saturday.
If Stubbs were to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, he would be the first Alabama State University Hornet to be called an Olympian.
