MONTGOMERY, Ala. – SWAC Coach of the Year and distinguished Alabama State head track and field coach
Ritchie Beene will be the guest speaker at the Alabama High School Athletic Association Summer Conference on July 16th.
"This a great opportunity to meet coaches throughout the state. We look forward to sharing some of the things that help our student-athletes perform at a high level," added Beene.
The conference will be held July 15-20 at the Renaissance Hotel & Spa in Montgomery. The annual event brings all sports from every division in Alabama to one location. During this week-long event, coaches will attend coaching school, rules clinic, new coaches' orientation, award banquets, and All-Star Games.
Track and Field and Cross Country coaches throughout Alabama will hear from Coach Beene and his assistant coaches, Justin Anderson and Jonathan Alexis.
The staff will discuss training methods in middle distance, sprints, hurdles, and jumps. Coaches attending the school will be able to have question-and-answer sessions with Coach Beene.
In 2019, Coach Beene was the speaker for AHSAA fall track & field coaches' clinic. During his time at ASU, Beene has collected 59 SWAC championships and has been named SWAC Coach of the Year 45 times.
