MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Alabama State University volleyball team won their 28th consecutive conference match with a 3-0 (25-13,25-15,25-10) victory over Alcorn State University in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action Monday night.

Krysta Medearis led Alabama State (14-7, 7-0 SWAC) with a match-high 10 kills on the night, while
Ni'yesha Brown added nine kills and
Bayle' Bennett seven in the victory.
Kori Kutsch recorded a double-double with 18 assists and 10 digs, while
Justus Tuiolosega added 10 assists.

Asha Daniels added 10 digs, while four players recorded a pair of blocks – Medearis,
Briana Dorsey,
Payten Clark and
Candace Martin.

Alabama State finished the night hitting .410, while holding Alcorn State to a negative attack percentage on the night.

"The girls did a great job tonight and played with a lot of energy," Alabama State University head coach
Penny Lucas-White said. "We got to play almost the entire bench tonight and they held the standard that was set.

"I love all the hitting percentages, it was just one nice team outing and they showed up. Krysta (Medearis) had a wonderful night, but you can't just say Krysta. She hit a .381, Bayle' hit a .636, Briana hit .500, Payten hit a .600. Oh my goodness. I just thought it was a total team effort, they did well and I am pleased."

Alabama State will hit the road Thursday night to face Alabama A&M in conference action. The match is scheduled to start at 7 pm in Huntsville.
