MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Alabama State University women's soccer team returns to action Friday night in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action Friday night against Howard University.
Kick is set for 7 pm.
Alabama State (5-6, 3-1 SWAC) enter the weekend after being off since Sunday when they defeated Prairie View A&M. The Lady Hornets split their last two conference matches over the weekend, as they fell to Texas Southern.
The matchup will pit the two teams who were picked atop the conference standings at the beginning of the season by the league's coaches and sports information directors. The Lady Hornets claimed the conference title last season.
Ariela Lewis leads the Lady Hornets with six goals on the season, and is tied with
Lexi Krieger atop the statistics with Lewis with 12 points. Krieger is second is on the team in goals with five and has added a pair of assists.
Inma Martinez has three goals and two assists on the season for Alabama State, while
Teaggan Ilela leads the team with four assists.
Gianna Guyot leads Alabama State in goal, having played every minute this season, having recorded a 2.43 goals against average.
Alabama State and Howard have met four times in conference play, with Howard holding a 3-1 advantage.
