CINCINNATI, Ohio | Alabama State hits the road for the seventh consecutive game to open the 2017-18 season, traveling north to face 12th-ranked Cincinnati Monday night at BB&T Arena.

Alabama State (0-6) will face their third team this season who played in the NCAA Tournament a year ago – South Dakota State and Oregon were the first two opponents – and all have been on the road. The Hornets are coming off a 10-day trip in which they played five games, but have had four days off to prepare for the nationally ranked Bearcats.

Reginald Gee leads Alabama State in scoring through the first six games, averaging 14.8 points per game on 43.8 (28-of-64) percent shooting from the floor and 46.9 (15-of-32) percent shooting from beyond the arc. The sophomore has scored in double figures in five consecutive games, including 24 against Chattanooga in which he scored 12 consecutive points to end the first and start the second half.

Jacoby Ross has come off the bench to average 9.2 points per game, including a career-high 20 against Chattanooga last week.
Ed Jones is averaging 7.5 points and 2.8 rebounds per game, while
Branden Johnson leads the team in rebounding at 5.3 per game.

Cincinnati (6-0) enters the contest after claiming the Cayman Islands Classic with a 78-53 victory over Wyoming last week. The Bearcats have five players averaging in double figures, led by Gary Clark at 13.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.

The matchup will be the first time the Hornets have faced a nationally ranked opponent since facing Florida in November 2012.

Tip is set for 7 pm (est) and can be seen on ESPNU, and will be played on the campus of Northern Kentucky University.
