MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama State University men's tennis team dropped a match to in-state foe Jacksonville State University, 4-0 at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center Saturday in the Alabama State Invitational.
Although they did not record a point in the team score, the Hornets did win a doubles match during the day. The team of
Tomas Fernandez and
Carl-Louis Luckmann won a hard-fought 6-4 match against Jacksonville State's Felizx Morck and Andres Gomez, although Jacksonville State was able to gain the point with wins at number one and two doubles.
With the match being called due to the Gamecocks winning three singles matches, Alabama State led a pair of singles matches that were still on the court.
Ion Efrim led his match against Pablo Caffarena 6-4, 2-5; while
Szabin Pusztay led Mathias Chaim 3-6, 6-1, 4-1 when the match was called.
