KENNESAW, Ga. – The Alabama State University men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 non-conference decision to Kennesaw State University Saturday evening, after battling the rain throughout the day.
Alabama State's
Ion Efrim forced a third set in his match against Sam Slade of Kennesaw State after dropping the first set. Efrim stormed back to go up a break in the second to force the third and deciding set, before falling 6-3, 4-6, 6-0 at number two singles. In another match that went unfinished,
Tomas Fernandez was close to forcing a third and deciding set as he came back from a one-set deficit to lead 5-2 in the second prior to the match being called.
Kennesaw State was able to pick up wins at number, four and five to claim the match over Alabama State, who travels to Mercer on Sunday.
