JACKSON, Miss. – The Alabama State University men's tennis team finished off their undefeated run at the SWAC Roundup hosted by Jackson State University, defeating the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff 4-0 in their final match of the weekend.
Alabama State (4-7, 3-0 SWAC) used a pair of victories in doubles play to gain the first point of the day. The number one team of
Ion Efrim and
Takura Mlambo claimed a 6-2 decision; while the number two team of
Karlo Skvorc and
Szabin Pusztay won a 6-3 decision at number two doubles.
Pusztay claimed a 6-0, 6-1 victory at number four singles, while
Carl-Louis Luckmann claimed a 6-2, 6-3 victory at number two singles to claim a 3-0 lead. The match was claimed when Efrim won 6-2, 6-3 at number one singles for the Hornets.
Alabama State returns to action March 3rd at home against the University of Arkansas, as they will play twice at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.
