NASHVILLE, Tenn. | The Alabama State University women's soccer team could not overcome the quick start by Lipscomb University, falling to the Bisons 4-0 on the road Sunday afternoon.
Lipscomb (3-5-2) scored the first goal of the match in the 26th minute off the foot of Selah Gilmore, as she was able to get the shot in off of a rebound from Alabama State goalkeeper
Gianna Guyot. The lead was extended to 2-0 in the 32nd minute when Alliyah Parker took a pass from Arielle Hansford, beating the Lady Hornets for the goal.
The Bisons were able to extend the lead in the second half with a goal in the 56th minute from Leah Cernicky, and the final goal in the 77th minute on a goal from Olivia Doak.
Alabama State was held to just six total shots, and one on goal on the day that came off the foot of
Ariela Lewis.
Gianna Guyot faced 18 shots on goal, making 14 saves for the Lady Hornets.
Alabama State returns to action Friday on the road against Alcorn State, with the match beginning 4 pm. They will stay on the road to play Mississippi Valley State on Sunday.
